Led by designer Tao Kurihara, this women's line started in 1981. Named after the French word for knitwear, it originally focused on knits. While inheriting the DNA of COMME des GARÇONS, its charm lies in a natural, lovely girlishness, offering wearable daily pieces. The "SPECIAL" line, marked by distinct tags and elevated designs, is also highly popular. From the SS22 season, the brand was renamed "tao," restarting as her namesake label for the first time since the suspension of TAO COMME des GARÇONS in 2011.
